The Atelier Collection
Privacy
This covers Atelier OS — the iPhone, iPad and Mac app — and the studio system behind it. Last updated 17 September 2026.
Who it is for
Atelier OS is the internal system of The Atelier Collection. It is used by the studio’s own staff, with a company account issued by the studio. There is no public sign-up, nothing is sold through it, and it is not intended for children.
What it holds
The company’s own business records: clients and the people we deal with at them, orders and quotes, invoices and payments, suppliers and factory orders, shipments, trade shows, and the studio’s staff records. Photographs and notes taken by staff — a stand at a fair, a piece being made, a quality check — are part of those records. Where a person has been given a company mailbox, the app shows that mailbox’s mail, which is held by Microsoft 365 and not by us.
What the app takes from the device
- The sign-in credential. Signing in stores a device token in the device’s keychain so the app does not ask for a password again. It can be revoked from the studio at any time, which signs that device out.
- The device’s name and kind, so a person can see which devices are signed in as them and take one away.
- A notification token, if alerts are switched on, so Apple can deliver them. Nothing else is sent to Apple with it.
- The camera and photo library, only when a photograph is taken or saved deliberately. The app does not read the library otherwise.
- Face ID, only to unlock the screen so the studio’s work is not left open on a table at a fair. The face data never leaves the device and is never seen by this system.
What it does not do
No advertising. No third-party analytics. No tracking across other apps or websites. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anybody except the services that run the system for us.
Where it is kept
On infrastructure run for the company: a managed Postgres database and Cloudflare R2 for files and photographs, with Microsoft 365 for mail and calendars. Access is limited to the studio’s own staff, and what each person may open is decided by the permissions on their account.
How long
Business records are kept for as long as the company keeps its books — accounting and tax law decides that, not this app. A device credential lasts until it is revoked or expires. Somebody who leaves the studio has their account deactivated, which ends their access immediately.
Asking about your own data
Staff and clients may ask what the studio holds about them, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where the law allows — write to info@theateliercollection.com and the studio will answer.
